Stop #33: San Francisco, CA

Stop #33: The first flight of the trip was from Dallas to San Francisco. Luna did not go on this adventure with me, but instead stayed in Dallas with Kevin Carlow. If I had planned this whole trip differently, I could have scheduled it to be in San Francisco at the time of the wedding with the Jeep & Airstream. However, I planned it intentionally to make it so I went across the Northern U.S. first and the timing just did not work to coordinate with the wedding date. This was based on a couple of factors: 1) the weather would be warmer in August in the North, and too hot down South, and 2) those who I had discussed my route with told me the Northern part of the U.S. drive would be more boring so I should make that trip in the beginning of the trip when I was still excited.

For the weather reason, I think that I made the right decision. However, I disagree so far with the assessment about the number of interesting things to see in the North versus the South. To this point, I have found that the South is far less interesting even from a driving scenery perspective than the North. Regardless, I’m glad I’m doing both routes and was able to arrange to fly to the wedding with all of the moving pieces.

The weekend in San Francisco was great. Lindsey is one of my oldest friends and her now husband, Joe-George, is her perfect match. I had the pleasure of staying in “The Big House” with the wedding party and some of the bride and grooms’ friends and family. The house itself was unbelievable. It was a historic property that rents out for things such as this. It was incredible to be able to have that many people in one place. Thank you, Lindsey, for inviting me to be a part of this, to be a part of your extended family, and to meet some of the incredible people you have touched in your life.

It was quite honestly one of the most creative and love-filled weddings I have ever had the pleasure to be a guest at. The number of people who traveled from near and far are all a testament to the magic this couple emits. The venue was really interesting and Lindsey’s vision were weaved throughout the event and festivities. I know no one else who could create something so unique in their mind and bring it to life through lights, music, and dance. It was truly a production. So much energy, passion and love when into this day.

Below are some pictures I took during set up the day before the wedding:

Wishing the newly-weds a wonderful honeymoon and love-filled life together. All the happiness in the world to you! xoxo

Back to Texas I go!

Lesson of the Day: Hire a wedding planner unless you have the energy to stay up all night for days on end that Lindsey has.

A few pictures of Margaret & me. Ignore how tan my arms are compared to my legs.
