Stop #8: Buffalo, Wyoming

Our stop in Buffalo was very brief. We basically set up camp, walked to get dinner and walked around the campground. However, a very nice woman came over and introduced herself when she saw us pulling in. She too has an Airstream and is a woman traveling in it on her own. She was traveling with friends who had a different trailer, but she found it very interesting and exciting that we both had Airstreams and were both women doing it on our own.

She was very interested in seeing the inside of mine, which I welcomed and then she invited me over to see hers. Hers is a 2005, 16 foot unit, while mine is a 2014, 20 foot unit. Hers had a dark wood interior while mine has light wood. There were several other minor differences including different shades and how the cabinets opened. Hers were better in my opinion. I deliberately chose the floor plan in mine because of the size of the kitchen and the extra storage space, but I liked hers very much. Somehow hers felt more homey. I will have to work on that.

I get a lot of questions about what the inside of mine looks like, so I’ve included some photos below.

At the end of the day, we both have beautiful Airstreams, and appreciated each others. I’m happy for the additional 4 feet on such a long trip. I will be having guests in the next couple of weeks, so I think the extra space will make us all much more comfortable.

The woman was very nice and introduced me to her friend who she was traveling with. They gave me some great tips and advice for my next destinations.

Lesson of the day: Don’t be afraid to talk to single ladies traveling in Airstreams. They could have helpful tips.
